Johndee, no, it's not an Iridium thread, but it's nice to see what competitors are doing without having to go hunting them down - we just get the good bits like this instead of wading through the 'go, go, go Iridium' posts.

Hey, good question :-). Let's see. Unless someone wants to rein me in, my relevance criteria include GSTRF, LOR news related to GSTRF, everything and anything related to IRID and ICOGF technology, subscriber numbers, financing problems, etc., Constellation and Ellipso ("paper systems" in Bernie's words), Inmarsat, mobile satellite telephony in general, Teledesic (more broadband but still long-term competition), Y2K global telecommunications problems, QCOM technological/other news relevant to GSTRF, cellular "swiss cheese" and dead zone coverage issues, cellular/fiber buildout issues, satellite launches/futue cost reductions, fixed satellite telephony/phone booths, satellite industry trade/analyst meetings, and of course relevant news about the plans of the GSTRF service providers/investors and equipment manufacturers, including QCOM, VOD/ATI, China Telecom, France Telecom, Alcatel, Alenia, Dacom, Daimler Chrysler Aerospace, Elsacom, Hyundai, Singapore Telecom (rumored) and others.

Ya got a problem with that :-) I'm sure I missed something in the above stream of consciousness, top-of-the-head list. You can also utilize the quite popular skip-over-a-post-which-doesn't-interest-you method since I always try to give an indication of the contents at the start. Looking forward to your next post (how about an analyst report on G*, I* or ICO?) -- the thread has been lacking such reports lately, djane

P.S. I promise that's my last attempt to emulate the unemulatable Mqurice from next to down under...
