Food for thought...

Internet investor CMGI Inc. said Tuesday that it agreed to acquire 83% of Compaq Computer Corp.'s AltaVista unit for about $2.3 billion in stock. The deal will make Compaq CMGI's largest outside shareholder.

Benjamin Rosen, the chairman of Compaq Computer Corp., serves on the
board at Ask Jeeves. CPQ Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of Compaq, currently holds a 13.2 percent stake in Ask Jeeves.

Do I spy a possible CMGI/CPQ/ASKJ alliance in the cards? This may turn out to be a very valuable property in the future.

Mohan

I think this must be a hot one. I got less allocation than some of the real hot ones like ARBA, PCLN, BCST etc.

Regards
