But as a sentiment note, bulls / bulls plus bears had a ten week moving average exceeding 75% before the 1974 and 1974 bear market hit.

Also, in a book entitled Contrary Investing published around 1986, it was noted that:

"Over the past fifteen years, whenever bullish sentiment (ten week moving average) climbed above 70% (bulls/bulls plus bears), investors who sold their stocks immediately have been able to buy them back at significantly cheaper prices in less than a year."
