Still more good news:cbs.marketwatch.com biz.yahoo.com fool.com ASKCNBC: guest-6 says: What do you think is the problem with AOL 's price - will they get into cable - Time Warner etc or what? SteveHarmon: I think it continues to be broadband, like the Hughes satellite - that AOL has agreed to invest in to deliver broadband via satellite. There are technological issues in delivering broadband via the sky. I would like to see AOL invest in coaxial, the cable end, and really get on with the show and the broadband experience. I don't think going to Washington to lobby opening the cable industry is the only way to go. I think Steve Case ought to be talking to the cable barons about doing a deal, and then AOL's stock price could get the attention it deserves. We've seen moves by Yahoo and Excite.com into @Home, and look what happened to their shares. Buying parts of cable players, and jostling for position - AOL doesn't have a lot of time to be betting on satellites; they ought to be investing in cable and internet and DSL. I am a big fan of AOL's position; it has enviable position to do a great deal. ASKCNBC: guest-xiannie says: What kind of effect will the Fed raising interest rates have on the Internet sector? SteveHarmon: I think that whole effect, or that kick in the pants, happened in April with the first stirrings of the Fed making the moves, and the sector fell 50. I think a lot of it has been factored into the market. If the Fed makes a 25 point move, it may have a small aftershock for the summer, but I still think most of it's already there. Overall, I think we're seeing more quality IPOs coming out and more valuations, and I think it's time investors started to do some homework out there; when the market starts to improve, it's time to do more homework, rather than less.
