CMGI is paying 19 million of its common shares as well as preferred shares equivalent to 1.8 million common shares. This is over simplified and the transaction is obviously yet to take place but I can't resist..... 20.8 million shares x today's percentage gain in price of CMGI of 12.92% = paper gain of $2,687,360 for CPQ. I was strongly against the AV/CMGI deal. I'm happy with the market's reaction but wonder how lenient they'll be in CMGI showing results from the deal. I'm also curious to see how GTW and DELL handle it. I wonder what PC's CMGI buys at corporate HQ.
