jd,

Alright, how about if we spread some FUD rumoeurs (I like the French version myself <g>) while we're at it:

DDR DRAM causes cancer

Buffett agrees with Sony that "DDR DRAM is unstable"

Via, shortly after announcing that they're bidding for Cyrix, announced that they've filed for bankruptcy. Roumoeueoers indicate that Via's cash reserves dried up after the Taiwanese government charged them an especially high Stupidity Tax for making the Cyrix offer.

Fourteen members of the SLDRAM consortium were arrested today after admitting that they purposefully spread false rummmmmmmmmmors and lies about the RDRAM technology. The judge in the case, Lance "I'm making up for past mistakes" Ito imposed particularly harsh sentences on the defendents, citing the heinous nature of the lies that were told. All fourteen defendents must write "I will not compete with Rambus" on a single sheet of 8 1/2" by 11" paper forever until they die.

And the final FUD rumor:

In a knock-down, drag-out, free-for-all, Jeff Mitchell single-handedly took on everyone in the world who thought that DDR DRAM had even the slightest chance of succeeding and kicked their collective bunch of scrawny a**es. Go Jeff!

Okay, now let's see how tomorrow goes.

Dave

Oops, I forgot to work Coke into the rumors. Here's a story I found somewhere on the web. I forgot the link, and I can't find it again, but I swear it's really there:

Forensic experts from the FBI have finally pinpointed the cause of the mysterious explosions that have occurred recently in the labs of leading high-tech companies as a deadly mixture of Coke and DDR DRAM chips. One source (who, of course, wished to remain anonymous) explained that apparently the Coke fumes seep into the DDR DRAM chips and ignite, blowing open the computer, and losing any data not yet saved to the hard drive. "It doesn't matter if it's Diet or Regular, Caffeine or Non-Caffeine", the source said, "Those DDR DRAM are just plain deadly." Scientists are now testing to see if Pepsi and Jolt have the same effect, though they expect that it will make no difference. "It appears that the mixture of DDR DRAM and any carbonated beverage leads to potentially lethal results."

"Remember," comes the warning from the FBI experts, "don't drink and DDR."
