Numbers do not tell the whole story!-) Mr. LaFountain said his rating
is based on an equation that takes many variables into account. If one
variable turns into an unusual number the resulting rating can vary,
not surprisingly on a daily basis, possibly.
For example, I follow alot of 'turn around' stocks. These companies
often lose a lot of money for various reasons, but are expected to
right their problems and return to profitability. After many qtrs of
negative, but getting better earnings, the company finally turns a
small profit of 1/2 or 1 cent. The stock price has dropped from 20 to
2, but with 1 cent of earnings, the P/E is 200!!!!!
I have responded to posts bashing stocks in this situation for having
too high a P/E to be a good investment. Actually the mgmt. at the co.
should be applauded for returning to profitability!
Be careful when interpreting numbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
