I have modified the translation and interpretation to make better sense, at least to me ... It seems pretty clear. Does anyone know if gold that has become radioactive decays into iron or can be transmuted with radiation into iron? ... I would be fascinated to learn the answer, as if true, there is no way this could have been known to ole Nosty. BTW, so far I have searched the web in vain ... My guess is it might, as I think iron is only a couple of elements down in the periodic table. But even that's more than stretching the limit of what I remember of the basic chemistry that I took 50 years ago. :-))
