Midday Nikkei up on foreign buys, eyes 18,000 mark

TOKYO, June 30 (Reuters) - Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei average was higher by midday on Wednesday, after hitting an intraday year-high at one stage in the morning, pushed up by strong foreign buying and gains in New York stocks, traders said.
