Per, re:credit card offers. The low rate introductory period is usually about 6 months, but a few are now running 12 month offers. And some issuers are going as low as a 0% interest rate.

It is all out of hand and we know for a fact that people are doing the credit card / stock market carry trade with infinite leverage, but who knows how big it is. This has to explain some of the explosion of US consumer debt, which EasyAl seems to care less about, along with equity prices. -s-

Per,

It is possible to exploit these offers, but the absolute amount of money to be made is very small - less than 30 dollars/month for 20k. Perhaps it is my South Asian middle class background talking, but I say no to loans, margin, mortgage or credit cards. :-) I suspect that the CC companies are trying to get me hooked on credit by offerring these teaser rates.
