Hey there Gersh Dude,

How's your max pain experiment working out?

Until proven otherwise, the OEX top is 695. A breakout could go to about 720 or so, and it may happen. I simply look forward to tomorrow. It just doesn't seem wise for the market to flaunt Mr. G. Mr C's budget "surplus" could evaporate very quickly if the capital gains receipts go away. It is interesting that he had his big news conference on the eve of the fed announcement.

Again, the fed announcement will tell the tale. Are the economic powers that be more concerned about essentially non-existent price inflation, as their words reflect, or asset inflation, as their actions might reflect? My research reflects that the Big Boyz really need a couple of quarters of decent earnings to get healthy after the disaster of last year. Then too, we have yet to witness the reality of the Y2K problems.

In any case, I believe the last six months of 1999 are going to be extremely interesting.
