You'll have to do better than offer up a "maybe something happened to Bertrand Russell in the '50s". Let's see something resembling evidence, counselor, not some vague claim. I'm old enough to remember the '50s, and conventional public morality then wasn't much different from what Catholic bishops would have espoused. Colleges employed the rule of in loco parentis. Is New York University a Catholic school? That would certainly remove any mystery of why they would be involved, if there is anything to the story.
