Addi,

The following website gives week-by-week info on "3-month T-bill yields" from Jan 1970 till Dec 1998.

salus.uvm.edu

You can use this as a guide to compute the average CD interest rates during that time-frame.

Hope this helps.

[OT] Here is a URL that shows interest rates over many decades:
economagic.com

For example, clicking on "6-Month CD Rate (Secondary Market)" leads to:
economagic.com
Where you will see year-by-year interest rates. Hope this helps, there
are many meanings for "CD". I assumed you didn't mean the little disc
kind, since LSI is replacing THAT with the DVD.<g>

Anyway, if anyone can help me help this firend to find out what
the interest has been every year on 1 year CD since 1985 I appreciate
it very much.
