Hi Adrian,

"3. Zixmail works with Hotmail. Sure you cannot use Zix on someone else's computer. Neither would I want to send or receive sensitive information using someone else's computer. The whole point is, you can stil use your regular e-mail systems as before, but you now have an option to send and receive extra-secure e-mails."

As other posters pointed out, Zix is mostly suited for corporate users , you and I wouldn't have much use for this product. Biz users also travels and sometimes away from their computers but just have to see their emails on another friendly computer. I found myself in this situations several times so I can related to this function. Is there a product can support this ? yup, Entrust which also have a lot more imaginative uses for their encryption technology.

As a biz-oriented product, you should take a look at Entrust, www.entrust.com, as an example of how formidable competitions in this field can be. I standby my short position and adding more.

are you using ZixMail ? :)

cheers,

tt

1.Why is it difficult to use? The software scans your address book and tells you which of your contacts also use Zix. It generates a unique private key that only works with your signature line. As far as I can see, the only extra step when composing or reading an e-mail is in having to enter you signature line. Everything else is done automatically.
2. I use Linux but I use Windows NT for e-mail etc. I guess they will not be missing too many customers with just a Windows version.

5. Do you have additional technical information on their technology? Any info will be much appreciated.

<<1.Why is it difficult to use? The software scans your address book and tells you which of your contacts also use Zix.>> The software is not out yet as you know. From the “info” site, it says you can download your address book, not that is scans. And to send encrypted mail you write it in ZixMail not your own mail program.

I don't understand this statement. If you use linux WHY do you use NT for your email??

Zixmail works with hotmail… Not really… you have to download the mime attachment then open it in the ZixMail program. I don't know if you use hotmail now or not.. but it's not that great from my experience!

<<4>> ??

I have information, and knowledge, that is publicly available on the industry they are trying to get into. Lookup digital signatures or triple-des.
