apparently VIA has bought Cyrix
Interesting development. Do they now have rights to make PC133?
I've seen conflicting claims. Intel seem's to feel they do not, even after the purchase.
Is the purpose really to get into the CPU biz?

Chris,

I think it is unlikely that the dollar is going to weaken any time now, even if Japan raises interest rates, as they are printing Yen by the bushel. There is a lukewarm recovery in progress in the ret of the world, but nothing to write home about, yet. Japan and EU are both in recession still. As for the basic definition of inflation, I have debated this ad naseum in this thread, so I will pass. :-) Finally, I suspect that interest rates will have a hard time going up in the face of the humongous budget surplus that we are hearing about, which more than compensates for drop in private savings (remember that national savings has two parts, public and private).
