I caught the couple-minute story on Bloomberg TV just now regarding CF and competitors. My very-early, I'm not-yet-awake summary: Sandisk the leader; Smartmedia leader in music; Sony coming on strong, Sony stick is the most flexible product (data, music, picture) - only available in Sony products though. Sony (and others), but esp. Sony learning from Betamax- Sony are (purposely)not enforcing their patents in order to encourage others to use/incorporate (?) their (Sony) product.

I do not know about the Bloomberg analysis as I thought SNDK's advantage over SmartMedia was the serialization capability to enforce royalties. Bloomberg stated that only Sony could prevent pirating. Thoughts???
