Mark,

Maybe you can help me with some other questions I have. Do you know how franklin is doing with The Fortune 500 companies referenced in the president's message of Feb. 9, 1998 ( see below )? Also is this gentleman ( referenced in that same message ) with franklin any longer ? Phil Sutter, Vice President of engineering ? They stated at that time, that he is overseeing the development of the tempest line?
They also talk about the fnet IPO in that message, it seems that "several underwriters" were waiting impatiently to get at the fnet IPO. Check it out.

President's message Feb. 9, 1998

Our Business Plan for the FNet IPO is nearing completion. We expect it to be in the hands of potential underwriters (several of whom are waiting impatiently) by the end of this month. With the groundwork that has already been laid, the IPO should then be able to progress efficiently.

With our Tempests now nearing full production, there is a natural impatience to see the sales revenue streams that we all anticipate. Since the beginning of this year, we have assigned key sales personnel to specifically target Fortune 500 companies. The results are already impressive: within a seven day period, three of these companies have asked for evaluation units. We are setting our sights on higher level customers--there is a correspondingly longer lead-time normally required. Giants usually take longer to respond. . . but they leave deeper footprints.

We are still getting responses from our first evaluation units. In some cases, we have been asked to provide additional features or modifications to suit their specific circumstances. Our expanded engineering team is already working full steam ahead on the previously announced additional features for the Tempest.

I am particularly delighted to announce that Phil Sutter, formerly president of StarComm, has joined Franklin Telecom as Vice-President of Engineering. He is overseeing the continuing development of the Tempest line.

We shipped two Tempest orders during the last week in January. While neither is in itself large enough to be noteworthy, one of them is the first delivery in what the buyer projects will become a high six-figure order within the next 60 days. We expect to see Tempest revenues begin a serious flow within the current quarter.
