CPMI came in stronger than expected. So a 50 bp is more likely than it was before the CPMI numbers. Which could mean that if we get only 25 bp today, then it will be seen as insufficient.

If they announce the .25, I expect the market to go up large and broadly. But I also expect some profit taking at 3:30, but not any form of selloff

the question isn't really whether is going to be .25 or .5, but if the bias has changed - which I think it has in that they are less likely to start raising rates every month - more of a hands off bias- that should be good for markets in general - and since we are reentering earnings season, it should be back to a bull market with typical overreactions to news and earnings.

I have to be at the lawyers this afternoon, so won't be online - enjoy...

Just read John's note - well, what more could one ask for than contrary opinions to consider...lol
