LANE: I'd speculate there's a 30% chance the Fed will bump rates up 50 basis points AND announce a "neutral" stance. That, to me, would be extremely bullish for the market (though there might be an immediate sell-off). I'm convinced, listening to Mr.Greenspan, that he wants to put a lid on the market, as he sees the "wealth effect" contributing mightily to the continuing strong consumer demand for goods and services. Otherwise I'd put the odds at 50%. Gonna be interesting. (Lee)
