IceShark (or Luc)... if you are watching cnbc did you see the ad today from the "gold bureau" or something like that. This is the first time I have seen it.... its a bunch of prospectors asking why are we looking for this gold.... the reply is because in mkt uncertain times... skyhigh pes... blah blah blah (insert usual sound bytes)... gold is a hedge. The sense I got from the ad is that they were selling gold as security against all these other unknowns. For one thing, pushing gold on TV like this seems like a fairly desperate move and from what I have read gold really isn't a hedge against much.... I see this ad as unethical, well thats just me! Luc probably loves it. You guys have all seen it I'm sure, when did this start?
