06/30 09:55 Starsem to launch four more Loral<LOR.N>satellites

PARIS, June 30 (Reuters) - Franco-Russian joint venture Starsem said on
Wednesday it won a contract to launch four more Globalstar <GSTRF.O>
constellation satellites from 2001.

The extra satellites will support Globalstar's existing satellite network serving
mobile telephone networks worldwide, Starsem said in a statement.

The satellites will be launched from the Baikonur space centre in Kazakhstan
using Russian Soyuz rockets which France's Aerospatiale Matra
<AERO.PA>, Arianespace and Russian partners market under the Starsem
banner.

Starsem, which carried out three launches of four satellites for Globalstar in
February and will carry out three more in the autumn, noted it will have put
into orbit half the Globalstar satellite constellation by the end of this year.
