Dr. Cohen, not exactly true. Watch the tiny 100 share trades that set up the uptick, allowing for a short sale to follow.

Also consider that a short may be an MM in the stock, for instance the MMs that have forced the ask down for much of the last two weeks may be serving such a role.

Shorts can and have moved the price.
