Speaking of power. . . Did anyone else notice the blurb from Guillemot about the new drivers for the Xentor (TNT2)? They claim some Socket7 AGP motherboards don't deliver the full 6A spec for the AGP bus. This has resulted in system crashes and hangs, so they released a new BIOS which reduces the power consumption of the card to 5A max.

Now how does a BIOS update lower power consumption? By reducing the clock! No where did they mention this little detail. Or did they just introduce stalls into the rendering pipeline?
