I've wandered around a few threads on SI, and the shorts are incredibly rude on every one, for no reason. You've made such a wonderful point Carolyn. Shorting is one thing, but being downright rude and crude to those who are long in a stock, and calling them stupid for being so, is beyond comprehension. Investing should be a business decision, not a personal brawl between personalities. Personally, I have nothing against those who short a stock legally and don't try to devastate a company by overt/covert manipulation of the stock (like shorting more shares than are in the float, as one example I've heard of). Who knows?? Maybe one day I'll short MSU as a trade after I feel it has met what I consider to be its value. But will spread negative and blatantly false information that I don't bother to confirm, or rely on personal attacks against shareholders as a means of making people lose interest in the stock?? Nope. We all invest in companies relying on our best guesstimate and impression that management has finally got it together and can execute a profitable business strategy. Does it mean they cannot fail? No. However, it does mean that fundamental changes have ocurred that make the likelihood of success far greater than before. And that is the case with MSU. They have enacted changes in strategy and financing that provide them a greater opportunity to succeed. And add on top of that the fact that the set-top box market is getting very exciting this year, I think there is clearly a beautiful opportunity for this company to make enough deals to sell 2 million measly boxes over the next 12 months. Two million boxes out of the billion extra people expected to be online by 2003, as well as the UK's recent awakening to the full promise of the internet, also increase MSU's chances of success. As always... Just my opinion. Regards, Ron
