To me it couldn't be any clearer that "easy Al" is a deserved name. The year over year inflation rate is mildly higher now than it was last year. Rates were reduced .75 last summer/fall. So the real Fed Funds rate is significantly lower now than it was for most of last year. Yet the bias is changed to neutral. That means that at DOW 11000 and a booming housing market money is easier than when we had DOW 9000 and were 3000 points above "irrational exuberance". Makes perfect sense to me. (g) I'm surprised he raised rates at all.
