I pretty much started to doubt the 9 month cycle by early to mid June. I mentioned the extended cycle of 12-18 months back in April for runs following bear markets. The market needs about 6-8 weeks from the 6 month top to form the first significant intermediate term trough. It would be difficult to form a significant W-bottom all within 2 weeks in July. Hence, I thought the market would top out in late July or mid-August.
