I know this is easy to say now but I am not surprised at the neutral bias. They almost have to be neutral. Greenspan recently said they do not plan a series of actions. That would argue that they do what ever is appropriate at the moment and then sit back and analyze where we stand. If there was enough evidence to maintain a bias then they should just raise 50 bp. This is exactly what Angell was saying this morning. FWIW I still believe we will see another hike within the next two meetings.
