I got a thoughtfull reply for S.I. from IR on my S.I. Questions, Lucy is not in the Sky, she is in the ground, on the ground and strawberry fields are forever: Elucidate:(Until the pipes show us the Diamonds..)
MY inserted prior questions via EM are (#-A/D etc)...Diamonds are not the questions, anyways, but we all know that.
"Dear Chucka,

That is a lot of questions!

We are in the process of determining how we will recap the information from
the annual meeting. It may be by text format or the actual presentation
(slide show format on the website). We hope to have the information
available by early next week.

The Progress Report via press release was the same information given at the
annual meeting. No additional detail on backup scans or leaches history
was released.
(#-C):
The Alberta Stock Exchange Regulations (ASE Circular 4, section 10)
stipulate that we are unable to release any precious metal values by
methods other than lead collector fire assay (Standard Fire Assay). Prior
written approval and investigation is required for the use of any method
used to perform an analysis utilizing any method other than the fire assay
technique. So far we are making progress and are encouraged by our
results, but at the moment, we are unable to comment on what those results
are. As we stated in the press release, in our view "inconsistencies
inherent in precious metal determinations reflect inadequate analytical
methodologies, NOT the absence of precious metals." We hope to disclose
what we have learned in the future, but are of course unable to confirm a
date. The $0.30 drop in price that you referred to as erosion likely
reflects an anxious seller, as it fell steadily all day Friday on selling
from Greenline. Given the current market, any information from any
Resources Company including Birch Mountain, good, bad or indifferent, is
going to create movement in the stock price.

When we have corroborating evidence or hard numbers, that will be material
information and we will disseminate the information immediately. The
Alberta Stock Exchange has been very helpful and are cooperating to
determine what information can be released and what cannot. As for
Palladium being mentioned so was Gold and Platinum and other precious
metals.

Questions from Silicon Investor:

(#-A):
The reason for the difference in the acreage stated in the Press Release as
compared to the Annual Report is that we acquired more land in both Alberta
and Manitoba. The Tahera JV for diamond exploration on certain Athabasca
lands has not been terminated although Tahera elected not to participate in
airborne magnetic surveys in the area and have relinquished their rights to
some of the lands.

(#-B):
A similar method to SFA 56 was used for the fire assay on the Syncrude core.
(#-A):
If you do not have consistency ("a reliable procedure has not yet been
developed which yields results corresponding to those confirmed by SEM") it is impossible to have confidence in assay results much less economics. <Chucka-DELETED SECTION ON elements> Please clarify this request.

Any questions of production or production processes are extremely premature
as a great deal of work must be done prior to any decisions on production
technology or feasibility.

(#-C)There is no "whole" story behind Max Cooley. Birch Mountain has retained
his consulting services because his technical expertise complements that of
our staff and other consultants.

It was Birch Mountain's decision to retain an independent third party
consulting firm to audit results of our analytical methods development
program.

Questions Insert, of mine:

(#-A):
<<..Paragraph one- 2.18 Million Acres ( what 500,000 acres is the difference from
>the Annual report Book. I Assume that it will be announced that the Tahara (
>TAH ) JV has terminated since the 8 drills came up with no diamonds, yet the
>lease carries mineral rights; so, before that is written off were the scan
>tests done on those drills and made part of the decisions.

(#-B):
<<..Paragraph two- Syncrude Cores yielded SFAs of 2.2-4.9 Grams/tonne etc and now
>Bondar Clegg used SFA Method no 56 so, was that the SAME method used by
>Syncrude or not? I Assume so.
>
>Paragraph three- SEM showed and announced SILVER ( AG ) and Palladium ( PD)
>for the first ( I think but I guess it was mentioned befor) time; we expect ( Sic-today added herein to make sense Thursday<ie THIS Question exactly was NOT in Original Letter>- that any elements talked about to be in) numbers to be released to be standard
>economical, due to two factors. First, recovery sub tests were said to be NOT economical only inconsistent with the SEM scans ( elaborate please)..>> ( Chucka deleted specific metals questions as they were not answered by IR)
(#-C):
<<..Paragraph four- "elucidate" the fundamentals underlying the physical and
>chemical controls on the nature and the distribution of precious metals in
>our sedimentary rocks, and to developed analytical procedures for ...<sic>
>Just go into production with the NON CORRESPONDING methods, has that been
>addressed as at Max Cooley's other company in Arizona?( MXAM:BB maxamgold.com ) maybe it will. What
>came first scenario- the CHICKEN...or the EGG( SEMs)?
...Were the backup scans and
>leaches histories released in any further detail. If not, where will not the
>Exchange allow ant technical backup to be disseminated. Their failure to
>allow such information is contrary to the interest of any investors. Are the
>rule guidelines of the ASE on the SFA rule readily available to be referred
>to. No need to answer at great length...>>
>Five- 4 techs mentioned, will there confirmatory numbers be released?..>>

(#-D):
<<..Max Cooley, the name says it all...but what is the whole story. I met
>him in Arizona in May 1999, I was most impressed. I saw his lab and listen to
>him explain his procedures and talk about a new lab being built, by Maxamgold
>nearby- is there some info sharing happening here that will be announced
>today? ( Their PR the 25th noted)
>Lastly AUDIT, I assume that the Alberta requires an audit procedure by a
>capable person and or group. This is the key to the last part here, i am
>certain that Max Cooley is that man. That he can help others..>>
Chucka- I will link to Maxam and to BHMNF Thread at RB.
