OTOH, I am sure you heard about the Fraser Institute numbers published yesterday

That's why we create think tanks, so that they don't become politicians. Better we know where they all are, {Fraser Institute, CD Howe...etc} then where they aren't {in business}.

I would add that on average we work 6 months for the government. Unfortunately, if you look at the upper quartile of wage earners and add the following into the income tax (depending on what we buy) in canada we pay alot (ALOT) more (depending on province):

- Marginal rate of 53% in Ontario reached at $42,000 (in CDN$ or $28,000 US)

- 15% tax on purchases in Ontario (in some maritime provinces that is north of 20%)

- Users fee at hopitals and other government services when you have to use them

- Escalating retirement contribution

Yes, come to Canada. We need more productive people willing to pay more taxes.
