Washington Post did a big story on Keillor for the Style section, he quits talking to people and goes off in a corner several hours before the show starts, and he never does a first draft - what you hear is the first, and only, time he does it. I was listening a week or two ago, for the first time ever when I was listening, which isn't all that often, I think he got lost. He was riffing on fresh tomatoes and fresh fruit straight from the garden, and went off on a frolic, and kinda painted himself into a corner where he couldn't get back to the story line. But I enjoyed it, as I always do.
