Re: "BTW, I have always thought Andreas to be a pretty sophisticated biotech investor. If you look at his favorite stocks I am sure you will forgive him all. (Hint: BGEN is prominent among them)."

I still disagree with Andreas on this point, but always have enjoyed reading and have respected his opinions. Definitely meant no disrespect by my earlier post. His backing of my favorite company clearly speaks to a deep moral character and superior intellect.

Rick posted somewhere recently that the biotech index was up 70% since last August. Or something like that (standard disclaimer).

I just think that the promise of biotech is very real, but people see the promise and start the stock swings a little early. Expectations are based on a few sample points like Amgen and Genentech and others like them. Vector and Dave's portfolio is a great sampler - but many of those picks are years away from really fulfilling their promise. On the other hand, CLTR and SEPR are pretty close to fulfilling their promise. Amgen and co already are fulfilling their promise. So, if one were to have a basket of those stocks that Rick and Peter and V1 and others coincidently love, I think you could pretty much kick butt.

The Engstrom portfolio again includes SEPR as of last week.
