DSP (Digital Signal Processing) is a method of processing information, in this case digital music files for MP3 players. DSP is a software piece that sits between the internet and your MP3 player. eDigital is a company that was mentioned and uses TI DSP technology in it's MicroOS product that enables, through software, the writing and re-writing to CF media without having to use a contiguous memory block for the file. Basically Wocky is trying to overcomplicate the issue by saying there can be an alternatives to securing data (within the data) using DSP v.s. the IOM approach of securing it on the media with a security "number" as part of the file identification process.
