today was the day I was waiting for to swap AMTD for more EGRP ... which is exactly what I did ... as SpyTrader points out, for the long term, EGRP is the best hold ... no worries with EGRP, they just keep on growing and making all the right moves.

Don't get me wrong, I am a big E*Trade fan but their IPO's are getting tougher to snap at...most of the time all I see are indications of interest closed unless it is a dog like Green Mountain. Also new allocation is determined by whether you flipped or not. Frankly the quality IPO's are somewhere else. These rogue dot.com's that go down may be the problem although, to their credit, I believe that they are pressed to offer every one that they can. Whatever happened to personal responsibility?

I think that there is some real substance to management. I read (somewhere) that venture capital speculation, similar to CMGI, banking, loans, etc. were the goal. Not just being a brokerage.

I am just rattling this off the top because the purpose behind these threads is to share ideas and facts in search of the perception.

I am the one who recommended EGRP to my friend at $140. Imagine. She was unlucky enough to get it at the top. Lesson learned.

Well, I have not replied in awhile. But, now that the kid can try this new beta site it's time I start back. E*Trade has been trading in a range for sometime. It doesn't know whether to move higher or tread to new lower ground. My feeling is the closer we get to earning the more E*trade will move one way or the other. I am looking for more weakness in the stock so I can average even further down. I think e*trade is going to be a great power of the future. So, looking at the future buying in or buying more in the 30's seems to me a no brainer.
