David, I don't know what others do, but I resist any temptation to trade a new stock every day. I work with 3 only. And I think I know the behavior of their traders very well now. As you stated, a holding period of a few days is usually wise. Also I am prepared to buy in three batches and also sell gradually. I also find that posting my trade is helpful (along with the reasoning). If it doesn't make sense when you read it, then you shouldn't do it. Also if you post your reason and it turns out wrong, it gives you more incentive to think harder to avoid embarrassment in future. However, this does not deter KIS.

On subject of trading styles:

IMO trading style is a total package; it's personal, financial, and evolving. I started about 7 years ago with some Intc shares and basically did not know/do anothing for the next 3 to 4 years.

Anyway, Sarmad's reply is more to the point and I don't have much to add now.
