Aloha Meathead: Amen, couldn't have put it better myself, although i must admit that I too am having trouble following where MSD is planning to take the company. However, this may be as much my inability to concretize the abstract as anything else. I always enjoy you well thought out and informative posts. Mahalo and aloha

Meathead. I think you have this backwards. When you bought a few shares a little while ago and you are down it does not hurt as much as when you bought a long time ago many shares, like in this case, and you lose a lot of your paper profits. gg.

But I agree with Sonki. 4 mill. shares is a drop in the bucket when you own over 350 mill. It's like spending 40 cents out of 350 dollars.

Sonny

Re:This is becoming one of my pet peeves. Many of Dell's strategies and future visions are crystal clear. Quite a few are outlined at www.dell.com if you care to do the research. Relying only on the press to communicate snippets of these visions through Yahoo is a tad lazy. Are Microsoft's and Intel's strategy that much clearer than Dell's? Can you outline some of their key initiatives and revenue growth drivers for 2000 and beyond?

Agree, dell has placed many (but probably only a small sum in total) of their goals out on the table for all to see and I am glad to see that b/c there was a dry spell of dell news for awhile. Msft and csco and intc actually remain as close-guarded as dell does BUT dell was the leader who had the stock stumble more severly so poeple scream ignorant remarks about "a cloudy future" when IN FACT THERE IS NOTHINg "unexpected" in its future. saw this same scenario with intc about 18 months ago and it was the buying opp of the year for a big-cap tech stock.

Frank apparently cannot accept responsibility for his own investment decisions. He has to have a scapegoat. DELL will do well.

Meathead,

Now if I were Michael Dell...I would probably think this way.

"Hmmmmm. We've got to hold off on the news about__________ until after my regular share sales. Heck, the stock is going to climb like an F-14 after we release this news and I sure don't want to be accused of running my own share prices up. Yea, sure, I'm going to give up 15 to 20 a share of this skyrocket,...well, maybe if we just cut back on escargot for the month...(ring,ring (Michael calling home) 'Honey, you know that thing you do with Hamburger Helper...' "

Best regards,
George Wave
