I don't think you get it. Wit is different then any other broker you cited, not even remotely similar. Merrill, MSDW, PW etc. are not a threat to Wit in the on-line investment banking business. In fact, Wit is their worst nightmare, and will hasten their decline.

mod,

Just wanted to bring a little sanity to this irrational exuberance. Get real. WIT is not even a remote threat to any brokerage firm. They specialize in distributing IPOs over the net. They do not specialize as a brokerage. Have you ever traded at WIT? They are so far behind other firms it's ludicrous to assert they threaten Merrill or anyone else. They have a long way to go before the street takes them serious. Rationality will prevail. I have hopes that WIT will eventually get its act together and truly put the customer first. Anyone who has done any trading with them (other than IPOs) knows what a clown show WIT currently is. It can only get better.

Just because the stock has skyrocketed doesn't mean WIT has its act together. Eventually, stock price will reflect earnings potential and company value rather than momemtum investor sentiment.

best...

LIG

??? Oh I get it, you aren't looking into the future. If those other brokers offer the same services that Wit offers (which they probably will in 2-4 years), how can you conclude that they are not a threat to Wit? Once Merrill offers everything Wit offers (and Merrill will, they aren't stupid), what will Wit's competitive advantage be?
