That's 600M subscribers T is giving away to Allen who is a direct competitor. I can't figure
it.

According to the press release, it's actually 690,000 subscribes in ranching country for the most part. e.g.Minnesota, Michigan was the only state covered with a major city in it. I could easily see how this region of the USA just might not be the highest priority for T at this time. ... especially when there's 3 orders of magnitude fewer subscribers than reported when you asked the question. ;-)

Another story on Lehman's 10 Uncommon Value Stocks...

Lehman's 12-month price targets for its 10 uncommon value stocks are: America Online, $200 a share; AT&T, $73; Firstar, $42; Ford, $75; General Instrument, $55; Intel, $90; KLA-Tencor, $84; Lilly, $110; Microsoft, $130; and Tyco, $150.

Hmmm, double the population of the USA served by a previously unheard of Cable company.

I believe he was using the Roman numeral M for (1000), common in the banking industry, rather than the more trendy K (1024) used in tech industries. (Bankers use MM for Millions. Scary, ain't it!)
