Re: ZixCharge
I agree that CUST / Jaws / Hush aren't going to make a lot
of money with the secure email clients. Too easy for the
big guys to duplicate.

Now all the longs faith in pinned on ZixCharge. Well, I have
to say you guys have too much faith...

Did you checkout the CYCH press release today about ECML
Standard? It says Microsoft / Sun / IBM / Visa / Mastercard
amd others are backing an ECML (Electronic Commerce Modelling
Language) Standard. The idea is that the ECommerce websites
will support customer input through an ECML interface and
Microsoft / Sun / CyberCash / etc. will provide EWallet
technology to use at the customer end.

Looks like all the big players are backing a different
solution with an open standard ECML. CUST and its proprietary
standard will be left out in the cold.

biz.yahoo.com

This is exactly what all the big players want: an open
standard interface for exchanging ecommerce information
securely. Nobody wants to pay someone (CUST) a fee
to do it.

With this news, I don't even need to see the technical
details of ZixCharge. It doesn't matter because their
proprietary (patented!) ZixCharge isn't going to beat
the open standard ECML backed by all the players.

In the future (1-3 years) websites will start supporting
ECML so that a customer can use their CyberCash or Microsoft
EWallet to purchase goods.

Don't hold your breath waiting for an alliance from MasterCard
or Visa or Microsoft or IBM or ... They are already falling
in line with ECML and are working on consumer and business
software which uses it.

CUST - late to market
