Mason,

Buying or selling doesn't have to be absolute.

Completely in or completely out.

In the spirit of this thread, (going back to the first 100 posts especially those by Cary S.), 3 buy points were established for putting equal $ amounts in to about 8 companies. The buy points were set at decreasing PEG ratios.

There's no reason why one couldn't develop a symmetrical selling pattern to match the buy side of Cary's proposal.

Such a strategy would protect one's capital while allowing one to continue to share in a rising sector while still having some dry powder in case one wished to add during corrections.

FWIW,
Ian.

Korea/Jun Trade Surplus -4: Semiconductors, Cars Up

The ministry said South Korea's exports in June rose sharply because of higher shipment of key products including semiconductors and cars. Two more customs-clearance days compared with a year ago were also cited for the 12.8% rise in June exports.

During the first 20 days of June, exports of semiconductors rose 19.5%, cars were up 13.9% and industrial electronics products were 51.9% higher. But exports of steel products fell 35.9% and petro-chemical products were 16.6% lower, the ministry said.

During the period under review, imports of raw materials rose 14.5%, capital goods soared 23.5% and consumer products increased 14.2%, the ministry said.

In July, exports are expected to rise about 14% while imports are likely to surge around 40% to produce a trade surplus of $1.2 billion, the ministry said.
