MediaOne Adds 3 Digital Markets
Englewood, Colo. -- MediaOne Group Inc. said Wednesday that it has begun marketing its "Digital NexTV" service in its Atlanta system, and it has begun soft launches of the digital-video service in suburban Cleveland and Richmond, Va.

MediaOne focuses on premium multiplexes, pay-per-view and digital music in its digital-video packages. It also includes an interactive on-screen guide from TV Guide Inc.

The MSO began offering digital video in metropolitan Detroit last year. MediaOne said it plans to launch Digital NexTV in additional markets later this year. >>>>>

Microsoft Corp (MSFT)

WebTV Networks Inc., a unit of MICROSOFT CORP that brings the Internet to television sets, said it was partnering with REALNETWORKS INC, the software giant's main rival in sending audio over the Internet. The deal signals an upturn in ties between the two companies, which were strained last year after RealNetworks repeatedly attacked Microsoft for allegedly disabling its products on the Windows operating system.
