WASHINGTON, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- In a tradition that has extended to its third year, TV onthe WEB, Inc., the first interactive, community-based television network on the Web and a strategic partner of Ampex Corporation (Amex: AXC), in cooperation with PSINet Inc. (NYSE: PSIX), will webcast the Nation's Capital 4th of July Fireworks LIVE onto the World Wide Web, commencing with a "pre-show" at 7:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday, July 4th. The event is being produced in cooperation with the National Park Service for the viewing benefit of the men and women of America's armed forces and their families worldwide and is sponsored and supported by the USO and Viewcast.com. Internet viewers worldwide should tune to tvontheweb.com to watch our nation's most brilliant fireworks display firsthand.

The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:10 p.m., and will last roughly 21 minutes. The fireworks are choreographed to a simulcast audio program of patriotic music that we will be provided by the National Park Service. The webcast will be produced from atop the Netherlands Carillon across the Potomac River in Arlington, VA, allowing for a spectacular view of the US Capitol, the Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial.

"The TV onthe WEB staff has always taken pride in producing this event for Americans around the world since the 4th of July fireworks display in 1997, our first of over 300 webcasts since then," commented Dave Gardy, Chairman and Co-CEO of TV onthe WEB. " We're pleased to again have this opportunity to salute our people overseas and invite the world to America's birthday party."

TV onthe WEB will offer a variety of commentary prior to the event including on-line interactive video chat with participants worldwide. The production feed from the TV onthe WEB server will be made available on the web via PSINet's global Internet backbone network allowing a domestic and international audience to view our Nation's Capital fireworks LIVE.
