I agree Rand is a fairly pedestrian writer (not everyone strides purposefully across a room and has a square jaw), but she does have an impact doesn't she? I think she serves a good purpose in that she provides a bridge for those converting from leftism to being a rightist. I read one reviewer who said Randian man is similar to Marxian man. Might be something to that.

We should keep in mind too, that she came along at a time when socialism was on the march in this country and she helped fill a void on the right.
