So, Govinda gets ahead of Anthony Hopkins? Looks like there has been a huge "moron turnout" in this "election"! Govinda in the top 10, and Amitabh Bachchan placed ahead of Laurence Olivier and Alec Guinness... sheesh! No wonder India churns out a thousand crappy films every year!

PowerGen(UK) on mega acquisition spree

UK-based PowerGen is set to dominate the Indian power scene. The company having recently acquired Torrent group's 655 mw power project at Paguthan, Gujarat is eyeing many more. Those that feature on the list include 525 mw Spic's Tuticorin project in which the company plans to hike its stake from 25% to 75%. Discussions with BPL promoted 520 mw project at Ramagundam, Jindal Tractebal's 840 mw Ib valley project in Orissa are also on. The acquisitions are a part of the company's plans of investing Rs30bn as equity over the next five years. If everything goes well PowerGen will emerge as the largest foreign investor in India's power sector ahead of US-based Enron. PowerGen has already picked up 25% stake in Spic Electric Power Corporation, the company that is promoting Tuticorin project.
