Sbux is a big bargain. PE is what now, 60? What a deal! Maybe tennis shoes are the next bullet-proof investment? Whoops!
Or, invent a single-product, single-customer, research/development enterprise into a crowded field with revenues mainly of the imagination, go public and zoom up it goes, issue a secondary and there you are, dimes for a dollar that you can hold and sell for two dollars. Or hold longer and sell for three.
Let's get back to old fashioned values, real-world stuf.
I want to buy a TULIP. They have residual value, anyway. Suppose you took two tulips in 1650 and grew more etc., providing nobody ate any of them, how rich do you suppose you could be here in the year 2000? But nobody did that, did they? Nobody was patient enough to wait for the resurgence of interest in tulips. Just think what you could do in this age of media, whip up new-found appreciation.
