I agree the trading pattern on emc is really bizarre. I'm quite convinced that for the past two months emc was extremely manipulated, for the sake of the options players. All its big moves were associated with options expirations, etc. Right now it seems to have gone into a new phase. While I like everyone here would love to see it make a big move, say 4 or 5 points, maybe this 1 to 2 point move is more stable. However, I still worry that the manipulators still want to control the stock and bring it back down, if they get a chance when the volume goes back down. As long as the volume stays solid then emc should be fine but if the volume gets weak then watch out again. And Fridays in the summer are notoriously low volume. I think last Friday might have been the lowest volume day of the year, or at least near that. Plus the Nasdaq has been up so many days in a row now (even though emc hasn't been) that a small pullback seems close, which would provide another opportunity for the big boys to try to bring emc back down. If they do, then I think their goal is to have emc at 55 when options expire in 2 weeks.
