MMK,

I get my data from AOL and reformat it with AsciiConvert v1.8. Here's how to get it going that way. If you have a different data provider, you probably don't need any reformatting:

Download aol data into a folder and access that folder with ASCII. When you open ASCII (just click "continue" and "ok" to get started after opening it) click on "methods". Click on "reformat comma delimited" Then click on "File" Then doubleclick on "delete temp.txt" and click "yes".

Then, click that little red folder. On the right side of the window that comes up, find the folder with the data. Double click the folder name with the data in it and on the left side you'll see the data file. double click that and you're ready to reformat.

click the minus sign. click the minus sign again. Those two clicks remove the symbol and a "D" from the destination lineup. Highlight the bottom listing (a 0) under "destination lineup" and click the minus sign again.

Now click "Execute" The data will now be formatted correctly.

Open Parity and click on "groups". Then click on "load a security".
On the right side of the pop-up you need to find where you put the unzipped Ascii18 ap. Double click on that and on the left side of the pop-up double click "temp.txt" then "ok". THAT will get the chart up and you'll be ready to go.

The TA stuff is under "studies". To get the parameters in for the stuff from the seminar, go to "create/modify current study".

It looks like a lot of stuff to do to get it going but when you get it down it takes about 1 1/2 mins. from downloading data to running the TA.
