Announces New $10M Spectrum Monitoring System Contract with the Government of Venezuela SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 1, 1999--TCI International, Inc. (TCII) announced today that it has signed a contract with the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of the Government of Venezuela, acting through its National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL), which provides for TCI to supply a country-wide Automated Spectrum Management and Monitoring System for Venezuela. The System consists of one national control center, five remote monitoring stations and ten mobile units. The Agreement provides for the company to receive approximately US$ 10,000,000 for the project which is scheduled to be completed in 14 months. The contract is the result of an international competitive procurement. John W. Ballard, III, President and CEO of TCI International commented that ''This is TCI International's second substantial contract for the supply and installation of Spectrum Management and Monitoring Systems (SMS) in South America. In addition, TCI International has supplied similar systems to countries in Asia and Africa.
