Welcome to Nasdaq trading. If you dont like it dont trade Nasdaq.

A month with MBT will open your eyes and give you a lesson.
Every seller needs a buyer. Remember that.

You cannot expect Fidelity to match Datek in speed of execution. Datek *is* the Island ECN, the most popular choice of routing by daytraders. Trades are crossed automatically with ISLD, executions are blindingly fast.

But wait till you have a stock to sell that no one on ISLD is willing to buy. You are left broadcasting the order to the Market Makers who are *flooded* with sell orders and have to accept your order manually. I've had stocks drop 5 points waiting for a "market" order to fill and still be able to cancel the order 30-45 seconds after it was placed live direct to the market.

Make no mistake- the Market Makers are in a business. They intend to make a profit. They will follow the rules (in general) but if there are no other buyers they will be buying as little as they can and let the price drop.

Fidelity will give you better fills than ARCA and doesnt have the hassles of possible autocancels from ISLD. You need a lesson in reality.
