I agree that something ought to have been said besides the email from IR to the effect that it was an unplanned release of information (see exchange2000.com
Of course it may have been a strategic "error" as a way of getting into play, either in terms of the stock or in terms of arousing interest by prospective purchasers...but perhaps saying nothing more is better than exacerbating the situation if it was truly an unplanned release...
