Anyway, Orange in the UK announced extending its relationshsip with Nokia. They will launch their version of the Nokia 7110 (Internet phone). they will also jointly develop a way of locking a signal to the base station that covers the consumer's home to enable ultra cheap services (to compete against the fixed residential market). However Orange also will launch Ericsson's and Motorola's new phones too. Orange also said they are developing their own videophone, stating very much that it was their's and not a "badged" third party phone.

Shares in Nokia (NOK: news, msgs) rose 2.4 euros or 2.7 percent to 90.40 euros after Morgan Stanley Dean Witter upgraded its shares from "outperformer" to a "strong buy." A telecoms analyst at Morgan Stanley said the company upgraded the shares on the back of a report on the handset market due next week.
